About Jeff Bacon
Jeff Bacon is the lead fathers’ rights attorney at Dads.Law, a family law firm that represents men only. The firm has offices in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. His practice is devoted to fathers in divorce, custody, paternity, child support, and protective order cases. He focuses in particular on high-conflict custody disputes and on cases where allegations of domestic violence are used to separate a father from his children.
Jeff earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Tulsa in 2016. He earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2018. There he received the Order of the Barristers, the national honor recognizing excellence in trial advocacy and moot court. He is licensed to practice in Oklahoma (Oklahoma Bar Association #33721). He is a member of the OBA Family Law Section and the Tulsa County Bar Association.
What Jeff handles
Much of Jeff’s caseload is contested custody. As a divorce lawyer for men, he represents fathers seeking joint custody and equal parenting time. He represents fathers defending their existing time against modification. He also represents fathers whose relationships with their children have been interrupted by relocation, interference, or exaggerated and unfounded allegations. He has extensive experience litigating and defeating protective order cases arising out of domestic disputes. He has secured dismissal of improper orders and restored meaningful contact between fathers and their children afterward. He also defends fathers in DHS investigations and abuse-allegation cases that run alongside child custody disputes. A protective order petition is usually the opening move in a custody fight. The hearing is set within fourteen days of filing. A finding of domestic violence creates a presumption against custody for the father under 43 O.S. § 109(I). Jeff prepares those hearings as the custody trials they turn out to be.
His background in business and finance shapes the other half of his practice. Jeff handles high-value divorces for men, including the valuation and division of closely held businesses, professional practices, retirement accounts, and complex marital estates. He drafts and litigates prenuptial agreements. He also represents fathers in paternity and child support matters and in emergency custody proceedings. In those cases, the temporary order entered in the first weeks tends to become the schedule the court keeps.
How he works
Clients describe Jeff’s advocacy as steady, ethical, and clear. He is direct about what Oklahoma law allows and what it does not. He prepares every case as if it will be tried. He keeps fathers informed at each stage so that the decisions in their cases are theirs. He believes a father’s role as a steady, dependable presence is essential to the strength and stability of a family in times of crisis. That conviction is shaped by his own experience of fatherhood. It is also shaped by a faith-based belief that fathers are called to be a source of protection, consistency, and moral grounding for their children. That perspective informs his approach to advocacy. It is measured, principled, and focused on preserving a father’s ability to remain a meaningful and stabilizing force in his child’s life.
Fathers who work with Jeff should expect a plan on the first day. It covers which facts the judge will weigh under the best-interests factors in 43 O.S. § 109. It covers what evidence has to be gathered before the temporary order hearing, and where the case is likely to settle if the other side is willing. Our statewide guides to child custody for Oklahoma fathers and protective order defense describe the process he uses.
